Reflections

Every since this picture was taken in 1980, I felt it deserved to be a painting, now 40 years later I have completed it on a 16 b,y 20 inch canvas and painted in acrylic. This for me is a long overdue but satisfying piece of art of my great grandmother Effie Belle Laster.

My Mother

This painting in acrylic is of my beloved mother who passed in 1987 at the age of 44 she is loved and missed by all who knew her

Mt. Baker in watercolor

This painting is a watercolor done of  Mt. Baker in Washington state that I visited the Christmas of 2018, and was painted for my sister as a gift.

A Mother's Roses

This painting in acrylic that was done in the mid eighties for my mother a few short years before her passing. The three roses represented the three children she had. This painting made it's way back to me after being with my sister for some years then my brother and now back to me. It is a very special work that my mother treasured and now I treasure it along with her very special memory. I will always love you mom, your son Brentie.

Bird in the Birches

This design has three elements in it's construction, the first element is the outline of the white birch tree's, the lines themselves are a weighted line. The second element is the crosshatching that is done in the background to give it a recessed fade from dark to light making the trees stand out and to all so give the feeling they are in a cold and snowy place. The third element is the focal point, the bird nesting in the birches. The bird done in red is not only the design's focal point but also adds a monochromatic third element and final part that pulls the design together.
